Long time no write

by Lola-J @ Sunday, 11. Feb, 2007 - 17:06:07

Well hellooooooooooooooo.....

Just a short note to say how things are here, haven't written in my blog for such a long time and I thought it time to fill you all in with what's been happening.

Me and hubby now have our own business and are working very long hours and not finding time for much else, so needless to say, we rarely go out just pass out in fact when we get home !!!

Step-son is practically living with us full-time which is a step in the right direction and he's improved in school a lot by the amount of 'good' stickers he gets now!  His mother however, is still playing her mind games, all of which me and hubby find highly amusing and it's a shame she doesn't just get on with the life she has rather than scrounging off us and general making herself look a complete idiot!

Darling daughter is now going through some exams in school and seems to be doing fine, she's also pinching all my clothes, shoes, bags you name it, which irritates the shit out of me especially when I'm trying to find THAT jumper to wear!

Think that's about it for now.....hope everyone who knows me is well and I look forward to trying to get some more time to blog once in a while to let you know I'm still around!

by Lola-J @ Saturday, 16. Sep, 2006 - 09:56:08

Had a lot on this week, work has been mega stressful and hubby has had man-flu :(

Up early this morning as hubby went to work so tidied up, put some washing in and we're off out when he gets back to buy a new wardrobe as the one we inherited with the house is shite and doesn't fit a pair of shoes in it !!

Looked around the house this morning and realised that we've been here over two years and haven't even painted the living room!!! It's a neutral cream anyhow so wasn't like we really HAD to paint and now I'm too afraid as we had cream carpet fitted, even with dust-sheets you can guarantee that paint will get in there somewhere :(

The sun is shining outside and I have the windows open, nice to have a Saturday (first in a long time) where there are no interruptions and I can do some writing, enjoy a quiet shower, there's not even many cars passing outside ... either that or I'm so chilled I'm not noticing them lol

Everything is quiet on the western front with hubbys side of life i.e. ex and child...makes a change! Sometimes wonder if it is the calm before the storm!!!

Hope everyone is wickedly well..miss you all loads...keep in touch xxx

Lazy Sundays :)

by Lola-J @ Sunday, 10. Sep, 2006 - 18:55:50

Sunday is now coming to a close and boy has it been a lovely sunny and warm one!

Awoke at 8am for bladder relief, tried to ignore it, but no chance, headed downstairs to see step-son having the same idea although it looked as though he had been watching a dvd in his room for at least an hour already!

No sooner had i sauntered back upstairs, hubby had now appeared from the pit and his bladder was giving him the same jip so headed in the same direction soon after.

Back to bed to enjoy some Sunday R&R and fell blissfully back to sleep until I was awoken by sister growling down phone (and shouting at the kids at the same time!!) saying that the kids had woken her at the crack of dawn to have her try to get the printer working as it had failed the previous evening!  She explained how they needed it for their homework and that M had thrown mouse across bedroom in temper and that probably didn't work now either!

Eventually talked her through the process and got it working for her again to the delight of her and the kids, happy in the knowledge that Sunday (it was now 10am) would continue with some sort of normality as she had hoped.

Hubby asked if I would like to join him and step-son swimming, wasn't keen at first given that I had only consumed ONE cup of tea (need at least five to get me going!) but decided to agree and thought it would be good to get out and relax now and again of a weekend rather than stressing over the housework blah blah.

Headed off to pool and it was soooooooooooo cold, thought about retreating after 10 minutes to the changing rooms but I realised that nobody would let me so beared with it and tried to attempt  few strokes given that I haven't swum in years!  Was quite enjoyable, chlorine in eyes stung and the smell made me want to vomit but otherwise was ok!

Step-son decided to lob his arm-bands off even though we said that it was best at this stage to keep them on and I commented to hubby how he was so unafraid of the water, it wouldn't take him long to learn.

Well..............next things we knows............the little bugger is swimming all by himself!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'd swear he was my kid the way I whooped him out of the water kissing and hugging him and telling how proud I was!!!  Think he appreciated it though, especially when hubby was quick to get in on the action too...poor bugger didnt have a chance with me cos i practically stopped the kid in his tracks I was so dumbfounded by it!!!!

Headed up to mountains then for an ice-cream, did take a pic, but have no lead at the moment so will have to post later.  Such a beautiful place it is.  Sheep shit everywhere and they pounce on you if they have the faintest idea you may have something to eat!

Lovely day all round really, am now sipping vino collapso and have back door open with pleasant evening breeze seeping through :)

Helppppppppp

by Lola-J @ Saturday, 09. Sep, 2006 - 13:50:46

Just reformatted my puter and now when i scroll a page or move a page out of the way, it's all shaky and not moving smoothly. When I scroll down a page, it's all jittery as if its slow or something, looked everywhere for a setting to change it but cant

p.s. have lappy not usual puter and mouse

if someone can help me from going out of my mind i'll be grateful

MMMM what's that smell

by Lola-J @ Thursday, 07. Sep, 2006 - 20:36:35

It's my cooked stoooopid!!!!!!!  I got off my hiney and shoved some pasta in a bowl, grabbed the cook-in-sauce (ok I know I cheated but I'm still graduating in the kitchen department!) then realised that I didn't have enough sauce for the pasta arghhhhhhhhhhh

Time to improvise

Grabbed a tin of tomato's, some worcestshire sauce, chilli sauce, gave it a good mix and it was bloody gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Plenty of parmesan and bob's your uncle, meal on the table within half an hour which all enjoyed!

Darling daughter was out 'watching the boys play football' *wink* *wink* derrr those teenagers eh..........and briefly showed her face, think she smelt the grub, walloped a spoonful down her mouth and commented on how gorgeous it was..........then as I wouldn't let her take a bowl of it out into the street, decided that she would now head down the chippy to get something she COULD eat on the street!!!!!!!!!  grrrrrrr but no doubt will be in soon with belly growling and sinking a bowl of the good stuff !!

Now enjoying a peaceful glass of wine, tapping away on this and watching that programme where they try to sell shares in their business to a panel of men and women...........god they're brutal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This afternoon continued

by Lola-J @ Thursday, 07. Sep, 2006 - 20:25:01

So off I heads to my next place of work to help them out..........never seem to have any myself but there you go, was an opportunity of catching up with me old work mates and having a gossip.

Bessie mate from work said how she hoped I'd get something else work wise as I had plenty more years of working and it was time I found something I enjoyed as life is far too short to hate going there everyday, and she's right.

Was a rather enjoyable afternoon and I found that my stress jitters were non-apparent and i was smiling and laughing with my work mates, something I haven't done in a long time and can't wait to go back tomorrow for a couple of hours.

Have returned home and spoken to hubby about my appointment with nurse and explained how I really need to bring my stress down, he's always there for me but tends to get a little het-up when he feels he can't help me :(   He's always the one who hears my moans first hand and for that I thank him, he's always the one to cuddle me when I'm down and for that, I love him and he's always the one who makes me belly laugh and for that, I adore him.

Time to let things go that I don't need to worry about and start building my life how I want it, not how I would wish for it to go.

Where am I??

by Lola-J @ Thursday, 07. Sep, 2006 - 19:51:11

This is a question I ask myself a lot lately.

When I open my eyes in the morning, when I get dressed for work, when I drive there, whilst I'm there, when I drive home and during the quieter moments of an evening.

Today bore no real difference from another, other than I got to leave work for two hours........one for lunch and the other to pay a visit to my docs for my three year check (the girls know what I mean) involving something resembling a metal sugar dummy and a lollipop stick!!!!!!  OH JOY!!!!!!!!!!

THIS MORNING

Atmosphere much the same in pokey-hole but the sun was shining which made a little bit of a difference.  Post remained on stairs for an hour today until I moved it in a westerly direction towards Myrtle's desk but not actually on it...beats me why I'm scared of just putting it there like she does but there ya go, never one to cause trouble and I'm crap at putting on a fake smile!

Low and behold only half an hour after it was placed on cupboard, did she pick it up and actually do it!!

AFTERNOON

So off I trots to the GP and am quickly greeted by my usual nurse who ushers me straight to an available room and we begin to chat about things in general, tests are done quickly and we carry on with our chat.  Thought it was now time to take the opportunity of discussing with her the way I was feeling at the moment and how I've been suffering with what can only be described as 'the jitters'.  Told her how I suffer most days and my heart races, I get breathless, flutters in the throat and generally feeling under the weather.  She agrees that she's certain it's panic attacks but that it's not normal for me to be suffering on a daily basis and that I should make an appointment with GP for them to carry out an ECG to rule anything nasty out.  Asked her professional opinion, what did she really think it was, and she is certain that it is stress related but nevertheless, something else could be causing it which needs to be checked.

Dont know if I feel relieved or worse!!!!!!  But I know that I need to reduce my stress levels, not that certain situations are going to be easy to change but I have to make some headway because I'm far too young to be suffering like this, I want to enjoy my life without the constant fear that today will be another one of 'those days' wondering when the next attack will strike :(

off to bloggy dream world

by Lola-J @ Thursday, 07. Sep, 2006 - 00:37:43

Yes it's been a frightful day as stress levels go so am going to bid you all a very safe and goodnight.

It truly is a pleasure to know that there's always someone there to have a gossip with or just a damn good belly laugh........!!!!

Have acquired new blogfriend this evening, am happy chappy for that as always, gives me more to read!

Wish me luck for tomorrow as I wish you the same xx

The job front

by Lola-J @ Thursday, 07. Sep, 2006 - 00:19:51

Well as some of you know I applied for another position but I regret to inform you that it is no longer to be :(

Unfortunately, as this country decided to refrain from teaching welsh to its communities some god knows how many years ago, then the welsh language has practically vanished and thus I cannot have this job

It was, you see, bilingual of which i am not and only know a little of my mother tongue....little now being the operative word for the language and not my tongue..arghhhhhhhhh digging a hole there

Wrote them a nice mail nonetheless to say how deeply disappointed i was and to keep me in mind in the future...looks doubtful..am sooo sad!

Ah well onward and upward, my debut into media will have to wait......perhaps they're not ready for me anyhow!
